Description
Women put salt into small sacks at the salt works in Piffard, New York. The women are seated along a wide bench in a long room with clean board walls, floors, and a beamed ceiling. Next to each women are empty sacks. Filled bags are piled on the floor next to the women's feet and close to rectangular holes in the floor.
