Map of the locations of stream pollution in New York State. The categories of pollutants listed are 'Chemicals,' 'Food Products,' 'Fuel,' 'Miscellaneous Metals, Quarries, etc.,' 'Preservatives and Cleaners,' 'Textiles,' and 'Wood Products.' Pollution is depicted as occurring primarily around cities, and is largely absent in the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains. The date is unrecorded, but probably ca. 1915-1920. This image was created to record miscellaneous activities of the New York State Conservation Commission or Conservation Department.
