Every issue of New York Archives holds a "Caption This" contest for our subscribers to write their own caption for a selected photo from the collection of the New York State Archives. Captions can be silly or serious—the choice is yours! Our team chooses the best caption and publishes it in the following issue of New York Archives.. The reader whose caption is chosen receives a free one-year subscription to New York Archives magazine.
